Latest work!!! Triple back2back manuscripts on ParB-CTP from the Gruber, the Thanbichler, and my group. All three have similar findings but also unique discoveries that are complementary and enhancing each other. These are significant steps in understanding the mechanic of the ParB clamp and the roles of CTP hydrolysis in bacterial chromosome segregation/organization.

Relief of ParB autoinhibition by parS DNA catalysis and ParB recycling by CTP hydrolysis promote bacterial centromere assembly

The CTPase activity of ParB acts as a timing mechanism to control the dynamics and function of prokaryotic DNA partition complexes

Manuel Osorio-Valeriano et al

A CTP-dependent gating mechanism enables ParB spreading on DNA in Caulobacter crescentus
